In his remarks at the high‑level forum on digital economy, President Thuong said Vietnam has determined that the new focal point is the digital economy, the new production forces are digital human resources, digital technology and digital data, and the new driving force is digital innovation.
To ensure harmony of interests between countries and bring practical benefits to all people in the digital transformation process and digital economic development, the Vietnamese President proposed cooperation on the digital economy based on three pillars: digital institutions, digital infrastructure, and digital human resources
President Thuong said: “It's important to cooperate on digital institutions to develop appropriate regulations and ensure transparency, safety, and data security, especially personal data. We must create a friendly and attractive business environment, prevent and combat transnational crimes, and protect national safety, security and sovereignty. We hope that China and other countries and international organizations will share their experiences in developing e‑commerce and the universal electronic payment program."
"We need to strengthen cooperation on digital infrastructure to ensure each countries’ ability to participate in the global digital economy. Digital infrastructure must be considered as important as transportation infrastructure. Transportation infrastructure is the material flow and digital infrastructure is the flow of data. These two flows must always be compatible and synchronized with each other. I call on international financial institutions and businesses to research and invest in infrastructure projects in Vietnam and other countries in the region. We need to cooperate with digital human resources to develop high‑quality human resources, capable of researching, developing and applying technology, especially new and modern technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence. In this field, it is necessary to promote knowledge and technology transfer, especially with the active cooperation of universities and research institutions from other countries,” said the Vietnamese President.
President Vo Van Thuong also affirmed that Vietnam is always a friend, a trusted partner and a responsible member of the international community and will continue to work with China and other countries and international organizations to research and implement cooperation programs to achieve the common goals based on specific capabilities and conditions of each country.
