Sang affirmed that the Party and State have always cared for their lives and done everything to support their fishing activities. He remarked that on their voyage, fishermen needed to closely cooperate with the relevant agencies and promptly inform them of any emergency in order to get urgent assistance.
During a meeting with Ly Son island’s authority, President Sang listened to reports on the local socio-economy and Party building work. He said it was necessary to increase off-shore fishing as coastal resources have been drained. “It’s important to offer practical support to the fishermen such as giving them off-shore fishing equipment and helping them deal with emergencies and losses,” Sang said.
President Sang asked a number of organizations to get involved in helping fishermen in case of natural disasters and incidents at sea. Sectors are urged to implement fishing logistics plans to find outlets for the fishermen. That will help their production capacity and protect national marine sovereignty.
