The President stressed the important tasks of the diplomats in the 2014-2017 period, during which the 12^th National Party Congress will be held and Vietnam will continue restructuring the economy and shifting the growth model amidst increasing complications in security and development. President Truong Tan Sang urged the diplomats to use their experience in preventing conflicts, pursuing peaceful measures, safeguarding the nation, and mobilizing external resources and support to national construction and defence. President Truong Tan Sang asked the diplomats to promote cooperation between Vietnam and other countries, seek breakthrough solutions to promote trade to expand markets for Vietnamese goods and attract more FDI, collect experience from other countries to serve the national economic restructuring and shifting growth model. He urged the diplomats to protect overseas Vietnamese people and mobilize overseas resources to serve national development.
