President Phuc applauded the Vietnam People's Army for coordinating with localities to help people alleviate poverty and strengthen grassroots political system in key areas, especially in remote and ethnic minority areas, borders and islands. The outstanding achievements of the Vietnam People's Army are making an extremely important contribution to strengthening the posture of the entire people's national defense in association with the people's security posture, consolidating the great national unity bloc, and defending the Fatherland.

Over the past 46 years, generations of officers, soldiers and students of the Political Officer School have achieved comprehensive and excellent results, the President said and urged the school to reform the curriculum and teaching methods.

School of Political Officers must remain one of the core forces in researching, revewing, and clarifying the theory and practice, and applying the Party's guidelines to strengthen the leadership of the Party over the tasks of military service, national defense and political army building in the new situation.
