(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang received Philippines House Speaker Feciliaco Belmonte on Tuesday. He said that the signing of the Vietnam-Philippines joint statement on a strategic partnership following talks with the Philippines President opened a new era in bilateral ties and created new momentum for increasing trust, contributing to peace, prosperity, and stability in the region. He said that Vietnam encouraged and supported both countries’ businesses to increase investment cooperation in food processing, services, industrial production, and fashion.
The Philippines House Speaker said that his country was impressed with Vietnam’s achievements in foreign investment attraction and would learn from Vietnam’s experience to fine-tuning its policies. He added that their similarities and geographical proximity will make it easier for Vietnam and the Philippines to bolster multifaceted cooperation.
