At a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday, Quang reiterated Vietnam’s unwavering policy and strategic choice of constant consolidation of Vietnam-China friendship, neighborliness, and cooperation. He described this as a responsibility and an objective demand, which matches the fundamental and long-term interests of both peoples and is beneficial to peace, stability, and development. The President suggested that both sides continue high-level exchanges and improve the existing cooperative mechanisms between ministries, sectors, and localities. He called on Vietnam and China to persistently resolve disputes, and maintain peace and long-term stability in the East Sea for healthy bilateral relations.

The same day, receiving the outgoing Chinese Ambassador, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the Vietnamese legislature is ready to work with its Chinese counterpart to effectively implement cooperative agreements signed in 2015. She called on both sides to support each other at regional and global inter-parliamentary forums.
