(VOVWORLD) -President Vo Van Thuong on Monday received the Ambassadors of Poland, Spain, and Bangladesh, who presented their credentials and the Ambassador of Mozambique, who bid farewell at the end of his term.

Meeting Polish Ambassador Aleksander Surdej, President Thuong stressed the need for the two countries to strengthen contact and exchange of high-level delegations at all levels and the implementation of existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms. Poland is currently Vietnam's No. 1 trading partner in the Central Eastern Europe and Vietnam is Poland's leading trading partner in Southeast Asia. The President said he hopes the two countries will further their cooperation in economics-trade education-training, tourism, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

At a reception for Spanish Ambassador Carmen Cano De Lasala, President Thuong expected that the two sides will tighten political trust and promote trade and investment cooperation on the basis of a bilateral turnover of nearly 4 billion USD, making Spain an important partner of Vietnam in the European Union (EU) and Vietnam to be Spain's largest trading partner in Southeast Asia. With Spain's strengths in technology, infrastructure, and transportation, Vietnam wishes to boost cooperation with Spain in this field, he said.

Meeting Bangladesh Ambassador Mohammad Lutfor Rahman, President Thuong suggested that the two countries forge closer foreign and political relations. The President said Vietnam is ready to act as a bridge for Bangladesh to promote cooperation with Southeast Asian countries and hopes that Bangladesh will support Southeast Asian countries’ common stance.

Receiving Mozambique’s outgoing Ambassador Leonardo Pene, President Thuong proposed that the two sides continue to strengthen political trust and boost trade and investment cooperation. He asked Mozambique to continue creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese companies to do business there.
