Extending Lunar New Year wishes to the authority and people of all ethnic groups in Thanh Chuong, President Thuong praised the district for achieving many socio-economic changes, in which the poor household rate dropping to 3.4% and near-poor 5.7%, lower than the province's average.

The President said the State always puts the people at the center of development, gives special attention to the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and policy families.

On this occasion, he gave Tet gifts to people with meritorious services, the poor, and workers. In addition, 60,000 energy-saving stoves and one boarding kitchen were also given to the locals.

Also on Wednesday, President Vo Van Thuong visited Thanh Thuy Border Gate Station, which manages nearly 14km of border of harsh terrain and unfavorable weather.

He applauded the officers and soldiers who he said have united, overcome difficulties, performed political tasks well, and maintained a border of peace, stability, cooperation, and development with Laos.
