Mr. Phuc on Sunday launched the tree planting festival "Eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho" in the Spring of the Year of the Tiger 2022, organized by Phu Tho province and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, at the historical site of Hung Kings Temple.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President repeated Uncle Ho's saying "Spring is the festival for tree planting to make the country more and more springy", and emphasized that humanity is facing great challenges of global climate change, extreme weather phenomena, storms, floods, landslides, droughts, and salinity which have left severe consequences to lives and properties.

Expressing his pleasure at the results in 2021, when the whole country planted 210 million trees, reaching 115% of the plan, President Phuc praised localities, organizations, businesses, and individuals for actively responding to the national program of planting one billion trees from 2021 to 2025. He called on all people nationwide to enthusiastically participate in tree planting and afforestation right from the first days of spring for a greener Vietnam.
