President Thuong believes there is plenty of room for the two countries to deepen their partnership. He proposed that the two sides work closely together to implement an action program to realize their bilateral comprehensive partnership in the 2023-2027 period, with four priorities – oil and gas, chemicals, Halal products and tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Sultan Bolkiah recalled pleasant memories of his 2019 visit to Vietnam and said Brunei values cooperation with Vietnam.
Both sides said they will continue to coordinate closely at regional and global forums such as the UN and APEC, while maintaining solidarity, promoting the centrality of ASEAN, and contributing to building an ASEAN Community of strong development, solidarity, and self-reliance. The two leaders also discussed the East Sea issue.
