President hosts a meeting on judicial reform

(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform, chaired a meeting on Sunday on the project on building an e-court in Vietnam toward judicial reform by 2030 and orientation to 2045 and the project on building the Law on Justice for Minors. The President said they are the two important projects in judicial reform.

In his address, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said building an e-court is inevitable meeting social development trends. He said the project should clarify cases for in-person and online judgement to avoid the abuse of IT for violating human rights and citizen rights. A roadmap for law revisions should be introduced so that e-court will be applied in Vietnam by 2025.

In regard to the building of the Law on Justice for Minors, the President said 9 ASEAN countries have adopted the Law on Justice for Minors and Vietnam needs to adopt this law soon to strengthen the protection of child rights.
