The book was released by its authors — husband and wife Dr. Erhard and Helga Scherner — to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s 130th birthday. Dr. Erhard Scherner said Prison Diary is comprised of more than 100 poems written in Chinese Han script between August, 1942 and September, 1943 when President Ho Chi Minh was wrongfully imprisoned in China’s Guangxi province.

The author said he hopes that the German translation will help readers understand the President’s ideology, undaunted determination, optimism, and great desire for freedom, equality, and love for humanity.

The book can be purchased at bookstores in Germany or at Amazon.de.
