President Ho Chi Minh’s 133rd birthday celebrated nationwide

(VOVWORLD) - Activities are now underway throughout Vietnam to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh’s 133rd birthday (May 19).

A festive-day will be organized on Sunday in the northern port city of Hai Phong to call on young doctors to follow in President Ho Chi Minh’s footsteps, that is assisting with the community’s health.

Themed "Digital transformation in community health care", diverse programs will take place on Sunday, including medical checks, screenings, and health counseling for people in need, also calling on youths to voluntarily donate blood and equipment in support of medical digital transformation for voluntary medical check-ups. The events are expected to attract as many as 6,000 young volunteer doctors from the central to provincial level who are expected to participate

An exhibition was held on Friday at Nam Dinh museum to mark 60 years since Uncle Ho’s last visit to the provincial Party Committee and people on May 21. On display are 500 historical documents, a fine collection of remarkable photos, and remembrances featuring the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh in order to honor his great contributions to the Vietnamese revolution.

The week-long Lotus Village Festival will open on Friday evening with art programs in Nghe An and Thua Thien Hue province, where President Ho Chi Minh and his family lived for 10 years during his childhood.

“We are working around the clock to welcome a large number of visitors. The festival includes four important events and a TV link connecting to all provinces and cities in Vietnam to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Chung, deputy head of the Kim Lien historical relic site in Nghe An.
