Attendants are senior leaders of 29 countries, the UN Secretary General, the World Bank President, the International Monetary Bank (IMF) Director General, and some 1,500 guests from 130 countries. The Vietnamese delegation is led by President Tran Dai Quang. In his opening address, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of China, said China and many other countries signed the deals on “Belt and Road” cooperation, including projects on transport, infrastructure, energy, news agencies, customs, quarantines, planning, e-commerce, marine issues, and green economy.
China’s top leader Xi Jinping first talked about his “Belt and Road” initiative in 2013 during his visit to Kazakhstan. The forum will close on Monday with the issuance of a joint communiqué of leaders.
