The appeal followed Vietnamese top leaders’ recent meeting in Hanoi to discuss the fight against the new coronavirus. The Politburo said that the epidemic has had an across-the-board impact on Vietnam and will likely continue for a long period of time.

Maximal efforts must be made to prevent an outbreak, it said, adding that authorities at all levels need to work quickly to support affected businesses and people.

With resolute determination and strong actions, Vietnam will absolutely contain Covid-19, the Politburo stressed.
