The dialogue was organized by the Department of Child Affairs at the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Vietnam Association for Protection of Children’s Rights, the Management and Sustainable Development Institute, and Save the Children in Vietnam.
The dialogue aimed to raise awareness among parents, caregivers, teachers, journalists, and social workers of a child’s right to be protected from all forms of discrimination. It discussed ways to improve laws and the enforcement of laws on protecting children’s rights.
Dialogue participants voiced concern about children living on the streets, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) children, and discriminaion against children with HIV or disabilities. They stressed the need for more measures to protect all children from being unfairly treated.
