(VOVworld) – Germany’s Bild newspaper reported Thursday that a gunman was shot dead by police after he barricaded himself for 1 hour in Kinopolis cinema, Rhein-Neckar center in the southern state of Hessen. He was then confirmed dead by the Interior Minister of Hessen state.

German media reported that at 3pm local time, a masked and armed man with a cartridge belt draped over his shoulder entered the cinema. People fled screaming from the cinema as he fired in the air. According to Hessen Radio, at least 25 people were injured. The number of victims and the reasons for the attack have not been confirmed.
