(VOVWORLD) - Poland will host a global conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine in June in Gdansk to expand international cooperation and mobilize support for post-conflict recovery, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told reporters on Tuesday.

Tusk said the conference will bring together hundreds of political figures, experts, and business leaders from around the world with the agenda focusing on post-conflict recovery efforts, including assessment of infrastructure damage, investment planning in key sectors such as energy, transportation, and agriculture, and measures to ensure long-term security.

Ahead of the event, Tusk will visit Kyiv to discuss with Ukrainian leaders the conference details, including schedule, key topics, and guest list.

Tusk’s announcement comes amid positive signs in negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict. A second round of talks involving Ukraine, Russia, and the US is scheduled to take place later this week.
