Vietnam’s GDP, now at 343 billion USD, has jumped from 55th to 37th place over the past 5 years, making Vietnam one of the 10 fastest growing economies in the world, according to Mr. Phuc.
The country’s GDP per capita ranks 4th in ASEAN, the Prime Minister said, adding the Vietnamese economy has a high degree of openness with its trade as a percentage of GDP reaching more than 200%.
Mr. Phuc said these achievements are attributed to the efforts of many conservative tenures of the Government and generations of Vietnamese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Vietnam aims to become a developed nation with modern industry and upper-middle income by 2030 and a developed nation with high-income by 2045.
