At a reception for Ericsson CEO Börje Ekholm in Stockholm on Friday, PM Chinh urged the company to pilot innovative projects, support the development of 6G and 7G networks in Vietnam, and assist Vietnamese telecom and tech firms in advancing their capabilities.
He said Vietnam is ready to serve as a regional R&D hub for Ericsson’s next-gen network systems, and encouraged the company to prioritize innovation and help strengthen the country’s AI and data infrastructure.
PM Chinh emphasized that Vietnam is undergoing a major transformation in institution and organizational structure, with a strong focus on science, technology, digital transformation, and private sector development. Institutional bottlenecks, he noted, have largely been removed.
CEO Ekholm congratulated Vietnam on being among the first countries to roll out 5G and applauded its commitment to digital transformation. He said Ericsson plans to partner with Vietnamese firms to help them adopt and master new technologies.
