The Prime Minister noted that both coffee and macadamia trees are suitable for cultivation in the region. However, he emphasized that support mechanisms are needed, particularly during the first five years for macadamia and the first three years for coffee.
The high-tech macadamia cultivation project in Pu Nhi Commune is invested by HD Kinh Bac Joint Stock Company and covers a total area of 761 hectares. The project began planting macadamia trees in 2021. To date, 470 hectares have been planted, including 20 hectares developed by local ethnic minority households from the Thai and Hmong communities. The macadamia orchards are expected to start producing their first harvest by 2027.
