He made that statement at a discussion of a new vision for the Mekong Region held on Wednesday within the framework of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN) 2018. PM Phuc stressed the need to use water resources effectively, and connect energy, transport and human resources training, adding that the region has the potential of connecting its digital infrastructure to 250 million customers.
At the minister-level meetings at WEF ASEAN, Mr. Phuc proposed to expand the cooperative model of mobile networking with uniform prices between Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, the Greater Mekong Sub-region, and ASEAN. He said he hopes the 4th Industrial Revolution will lead to fast, effective development for all nations in the region.
The discussion was attended by Cambodian PM Hun Sen, Lao PM Thongloun Sisoulith, Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, and Thai Deputy PM Prajin Juntong.
