In a congratulatory message to mark the 60th anniversary of OECD on Monday, Mr. Phuc said he hopes the organization will continue to conduct research and policy consultation, promote growth models, uphold rules-based multilateralism, create new regulations and norms for global economic governance, particularly regarding the digital economy and e-commerce, and reform the international tax system.
In its next phase of development, Vietnam intends to become an upper middle-income country by 2030, and a high-income developed country by 2045, Mr. Phuc said. To realise this vision, harnessing domestic strength is critical, but Vietnam also looks forward to the continued support from OECD, giving it exposure to sound practices to expedite restructuring, enhance its competitiveness, promote international integration, and fulfill its Sustainable Development Goals.
