(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with Speaker of Indonesia’s People’s Consultative Assembly Sidarto Danusubroto in Hanoi on Tuesday.

He asked the two countries to boost cooperation in both nations’ potential areas such as trade, tourism, and investment toward achieving the target of 10 billion USD in two-way trade value in the coming years. He proposed that both nations foster cooperation in regional and global forums, particularly the United Nations, and join efforts to further ASEAN’s development. Prime Minister Dung praised Indonesia’s 6-point initiative concerning the East Sea and asked all parties to implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) towards a Code of Conduct in the East Sea for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region.

Sidarto said he hoped both nations will increase cooperation for mutual development. Regarding the East Sea, he said this issue should be settled through peaceful measures and dialogue, helping to ensure a stable environment in the region.
