At a meeting with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay in Hanoi on Saturday during her second official visit to Vietnam during her term, PM Chinh also called for UNESCO's continued support for preserving the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, especially the restoration of Kinh Thien Palace; the inscription of Dong Ho folk painting art as an intangible cultural heritage; the inclusion of Hanoi in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities; and support for Ho Chi Minh City’s bid to join the Creative Cities Network.
The Prime Minister said he hopes that UNESCO would continue to work with Vietnam in culture and promote the core values of the Vietnamese nation to the world, contributing to the promotion of a rich culture, raising the level of Vietnamese culture, mapping out a vision and taking action in building and developing culture.
Azoulay said UNESCO has and will continue to work with Vietnam in its efforts to build and develop culture, nationalize human civilization, preserve and promote traditional cultural values that contribute to human civilization.
