This year’s Summit, held under the theme of “Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance,” is one of  many major multilateral events, with the participation of around 20 high-ranking leaders, the UN Secretary-General, and heads of various international organizations.

This is Vietnam’s first participation as a partner country in the BRICS Summit, a multilateral cooperation mechanism for emerging economies that is becoming increasingly influential economically and politically.

The Prime Minister’s visit also serves to promote the Vietnam–Brazil Strategic Partnership.

It presents an opportunity for the leaders of the two countries to discuss major orientations to boost cooperation in trade, investment, and agriculture, and to effectively implement Vietnam's policy of diversifying markets, products, and supply chains amid the current complex developments in global trade.
