PM Pham Minh Chinh concludes trip to Indonesia for 43rd ASEAN Summit

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his entourage arrived in Hanoi on Friday, concluding their three-day trip to attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related summits in Jakarta, Indonesia.

During the Summit, Mr. Chinh attended 40 activities, including multilateral conferences, and meetings with leaders of countries, international organizations, and businesses. He delivered speeches which put forth messages, directions, and practical initiatives aimed at strengthening the ASEAN integration process and enhancing its relations with partners.

Prime Minister Chinh reaffirmed ASEAN’s stance on the East Sea, and proposed that partners support the full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and the formulation of a legally binding, effective and substantive Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC) in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Partners praised Vietnam’s socio-economic performance and the Vietnamese Government's direction over the past few years, and spoke highly of Vietnam's dynamic role and positive contributions to ASEAN and the region. They expressed their wish to elevate relations with Vietnam in the near future.

At the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2023 in Jakarta, Prime Minister Chinh said Vietnam always creates the best possible conditions for investors in a spirit of enjoying harmonious benefits and sharing risks. He added that the investors’ success is Vietnam’s success.
