(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has worked with leaders from Dak Nong and Nam Dinh provinces on socio-economic development. At a working session with Dak Nong in Hanoi on Wednesday, PM Dung urged the province to fully tap its local advantages in developing agriculture and hydro-power. PM Dung said: “Maximizing advantages and minimizing shortages for the purposes of sustainable development, first of all in the area of agriculture. Agricultural development should take place alongside building new rural areas and poverty reduction. Dak Nong’s poverty rate remains high. The province’s No1 task is to bring into full play its agricultural potential”.

The PM called on the province to pay attention to health care, education, and welfare. He considered Dak Nong’s requests on additional government funds to urgent projects there. This year Dak Nong is set to further develop infrastructure and to ensure social welfare for remote communes and areas inhabited by ethnic minority people continues to be maintained.

At a meeting with Nam Dinh authorities, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stressed the need to help enterprises develop production and business, strengthen incentives to attract investment in industry, especially in high-tech industry and at the same time tap the potential of available high-end human resources. PM Dung said: "Nam Dinh province needs to work out incentives to attract investment in industry, especially in the least-energy consuming, environmentally friendly and value added industries. I believe that the province will be successful in this work because of its advantages in terms of human resources and favorable infrastructure. I suggest the province to work with central agencies in investment attraction".

The Prime Minister urged the province to focus on applying science and technology in agricultural production and implementing the new rural development programs. Mr. Dung said it was necessary to pay more attention to health care, cultural and educational development, the reform of administrative procedures as well as in combating corruption and ensuring traffic order.
