Mr. Phuc said both sides are accelerating cooperation in many fields, including economics, trade, and investment, as well as in both bilateral and multilateral forums, adding that New Zealand attaches importance to its relations with Vietnam.

"Two-way trade between Vietnam and New Zealand has reached nearly 1 billion USD. The two countries have cooperated in many fields, especially hi-tech agriculture, but there remains ample room for greater cooperation. This is a very important task of the Vietnamese Embassy, trade representatives, and businesses in New Zealand, especially as the two countries have already signed the CPTPP in Chile", said Prime Minister Phuc.

He asked the embassy to bolster connections in education and training, expand tourism cooperation and further assist the Vietnamese community, to achieve the target of 2 billion USD in two-way trade turnover by 2020.

The AUT has engaged in a number of joint training activities with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city and Da Nang city.
