PM inspects Nhon Depot-Hanoi Station section of pilot urban railway project

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday inspected construction of Station S9 - Kim Ma, Station S8 - Cau Giay and Nhon Depot of the pilot urban railway project in Hanoi.

The railway line is 12.5km long and includes 12 stations (8 elevated stations and 4 underground stations), starting from Nhon Depot and ending at Hanoi Station, Tran Hung Dao Street. The total investment of the project is nearly 33 trillion VND (1.3 billion USD).

The Prime Minister said this is a huge project using complicated, new technology, which is scheduled to be completed this year, but now only 75% of the workload is done. He requested the investor and the Project Management Board to conduct regular check of the project progress. Hanoi city must also pay attention to this project, he said.

Shortly after the inspection tour, Prime Minister Chinh had a working session with Hanoi city, relevant ministries, contractors, investors of the urban railway project to discuss ways to remove difficulties facing the project.
