During talks with his French counterpart Francois Bayrou in Paris on Tuesday, Mr. Chinh urged France to expedite the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to work closely with Vietnam to ensure the effective implementation and optimization of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

He also encouraged French enterprises to establish joint ventures with Vietnamese partners to develop strategic industries and services with high spillover effects, including the automotive and logistics sectors.

PM Bayrou reaffirmed France’s strong commitment to deepening cooperation with Vietnam, not only in traditional areas but also in emerging fields, in line with their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Following the talks, the two PMs witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the sustainable management of mineral resources and the enhancement of geological knowledge in support of the energy transition.
