PM Pham Minh Chinh presents gifts to prize winning students, Hanoi, December 26, 2025. |
The scheme must be completed by the first quarter of 2026, he said at a meeting in Hanoi honoring students who won prizes at international competitions this year.
There should be breakthrough policies, including tuition support and scholarships for talented students; pilot programs allowing students to skip grades or levels; and dual-degree training, PM Chinh said.
“It is crucial to develop strong general and higher education institutions into core hubs of talent training networks in key disciplines and priority technology fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, new materials and biotechnology,” the PM noted.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, Vietnam sent seven teams to regional and international Olympiads in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics. All 37 participating students won prizes, bringing home 13 gold, 16 silver and eight bronze medals.
