PM calls for greater effort to raise Vietnam-Pakistan trade to more than 1 billion USD

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and Pakistan should strengthen trade and investment cooperation and fully tap their potentials to bring two-way trade to over 1 billion USD, while expanding coordination in culture, education-training, tourism, and people-to-people exchange, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said at a reception for new Pakistani Ambassador Kohdayar Marri in Hanoi on Friday.

PM Chinh lauded Ambassador Marri’s swift engagement in fostering Vietnam-Pakistan relations, particularly in culture and  arts, helping to improve mutual understanding.

He suggested the ambassador actively serve as a bridge between ministries, agencies, localities, and businesses of both countries to facilitate delegation exchanges and promptly resume bilateral cooperation mechanisms. 

The Pakistani diplomat pledged to do his best to further deepen the traditional Vietnam-Pakistan friendship, noting that many Pakistani businesses are showing a keen interest in the Vietnamese market.

He also expressed the wish to boost locality-to-locality and business-to-business connectivity, launch diverse forms of cooperation, and popularize Pakistan’s culture, people, landscapes, and heritage in Vietnam and vice versa.
