Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc

Answering National Assembly deputies’ questions, Prime Minister Phuc pointed out major national projects to be accomplished in the near future. He said: “The Long Thanh International Airport and the North-South express way projects, which the National Assembly has approved, will be given priority for capital provision. The government has directed project implementation. Dong Nai province committed to handing over land by early next year, so that construction of the airport will begin in early 2021 and the project’s first phase will be completed in 2025. Among the 11 North-South express way projects, there are three public-invested projects: one has been started and  the other two will be started by the fourth quarter of this year. The remaining projects which are Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) will see construction begin in the middle of next year.”

The Prime Minister said the government plans to allocate 700 million USD to Mekong River delta development projects.

He addressed deputies’ concerns about grave violations of Vietnam’s waters in the East Sea as defined by international law. “Under the leadership of the Party and on the basis of law, Vietnam has been persistent in protecting its territorial integrity and sovereign rights at seas. The government will continue to direct law enforcement agencies to take appropriate measures to ensure peace and development and will never tolerate acts that encroach Vietnam’s sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction rights. At the same time, Vietnam will seek supports from international friends and pacifists,” said Mr. Phuc. 

Prime Minister Phuc called on all sectors to promote the motto of serving and facilitating people and improve the business environment amid Vietnam’s international integration. He said the biggest resource for national development is the 100 million Vietnamese people and promised opportunities for citizens to develop their economy in their homeland.
