They included the handover of 33 offshore windfarm foundations to customer Orsted of Denmark, a groundbreaking ceremony of manufacturing four offshore substations (OSS) for the Baltica 02 offshore wind power project in the Baltic Sea, one of the largest wind power projects in the world.
Addressing the event, Prime Minister Chinh praised Petrovietnam's efforts to expand its operations to wind, renewable energy, saying that with its restructured operations, Petrovietnam has contributed about 10% of the country's total budget revenue this year.
According to the Prime Minister, green development, digital transformation, and circular economy are world trends, objective requirements, strategic choices, and top priorities. This is also an area where Vietnam has distinctive potentials, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantages, he said.
PM Chinh requested Petrovietnam to quickly master all offshore wind power technologies, including the production of turbines, wind turbine blades, and foundations, train human resources, improve management capacity, develop infrastructure, and propose policy to advance the renewable energy industry.
