The Prime Minister highlighted initial success in preventing the spread of the disease thanks to Decree 16 and urged for strict implementation of the Decree. He stressed the need to strengthen border control, not allow foreigners and Vietnamese living overseas entering Vietnam except for certain cases, tighten control of flights, suspend international flights except for flights that bring Vietnamese people home with permission of the Prime Minister, and limit domestic flights. Those who are allowed to enter the country must be isolated upon arrival. The Prime Minister asks the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant ministries and agencies to enhance policies on citizen protection, boost the production of medical equipment and strengthen online medical treatment. He asked the Army and localities to prepare quarantine areas and plans for quarantine to get ready for all possible situations. He said the extension of the social distancing regulation after April 15 will be decided based on reports of relevant ministries and sectors.
