Quang Duong was born in 2006 in California, the US, his parents are both Vietnamese. Since turning professional, Duong has achieved impressive results in international tournaments and is ranked 6th in men’s singles worldwide according to the PPA Rankings as of July.
Frequently returning to Vietnam for competitions and community events, the 19-year-old athlete has become popular among the local pickleball community.
“Pickleball is rapidly growing in Vietnam. Just two years ago, the highest player ratings were around 4.0, now, some are approaching 6.0. The sport has gained a lot of popularity. Wherever you go, you’ll find courts and people playing,” Duong said.
Quang Duong has just competed in the “Saigon–City of Rally” event in July, and will continue traveling across Hanoi, Lam Dong, and Gia Lai until the end of this month.
