Foreign visitors explore Phu Quoc island.

This marked the first cruise ship arrival since Phu Quoc, voted the world's second most beautiful island last year, officially put the port into operation. Passengers had one day to explore and shop on Phu Quoc Island.

Two other five-star cruise ships are scheduled to bring more than 5,500 foreign passengers to the resort island this month.

Phu Quoc, which can only be accessed by sea or air, is expected to host major global cruise events, thus opening up new opportunities for the maritime tourism industry.
