Photos on Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty on display

(VOVworld) – An exhibition featuring 112 photos about Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty kicked off in Hanoi on Wednesday as part of efforts to assert Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty from the Tonkin Gulf to Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos, as well as Vietnam’s sea and continental shelf.

Photos on display feature the daily activities of Vietnamese people and soldiers in defending the country’s maritime sovereignty, featuring some recent photos related to China’s illegal placement of oil rig Haiyang 981 in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Ho Anh Tuan said that the event is of great significance, conveying a message to people nationwide and peace lovers around the world regarding Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagos and its determination to protect its territorial integrity.
