Charles Jose, a spokesperson for the Philippine Foreign Ministry, said the Philippines will send an official request to the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Netherlands, to urge the tribunal to promptly issue a ruling in the case. Philippines Foreign Minister Albert del Rosario said speeding up the lawsuit is vital because the situation is getting worse every day. Earlier, the Permanent Court of Arbitration set December 15th as the deadline for Beijing to respond to the complaint filed by the Philippines in March.
