(VOVworld) – Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City has saved many patients with heart disease and kidney failure thanks to the timely donation of the organs of braindead people. On Monday, a brain-dead person donated corneas, heart, lung, liver and 2 kidneys to help six patients. After receiving the organs, the hospital carried out transplants for a liver cancer patient and two patients with late-stage kidney cancer. The heart and lung were taken to the Central Hue Hospital to transplant into patients with heart and lung diseases. The cornea was sent to the Eye Bank.
The hospital received the organs from a victim of fatal cardiac arrest. The transplant recipients are recovering and their new organs are functioning well.
