At a meeting with 200 intellectuals and scientists nationwide, organized by the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission in Hanoi, General Secretary Lam affirmed that intellectuals are one of the most important resources and driving forces making breakthroughs and bringing prosperity to the country.
He emphasized Vietnam’s great achievements after nearly 40 years of renewal with major contributions from the team of intellectuals and scientists. According to the Party leader, when the country enters a new era, the State and the people will expect better contributions from them. General Secretary To Lam said that first of all, there must be a mindset and incentives to attract talents.
“Pay special attention to and focus on honoring intellectuals, soon adopt specific regulations, take results and output products in the spirit of “serving the people” as the basis for honoring and rewarding, and ensure a deep demonstration of the culture of respecting talents.”
The General Secretary asked the scientists nationwide to have their 100 inventions, innovations, and scientific works in the world science rankings by 2030.
Vietnam must be among the top 50 nations globally in digital competitiveness and e-government development, Mr. Lam said, adding that by 2045, Vietnam will be one of the digital technology industrial centers of the region and the world and among the top 30 countries in the world in innovation and digital transformation.
