The Party leader received a high-ranking delegation from the French Communist Party led by its National Secretary Fabien Roussel in Hanoi on Monday. The delegation is in Vietnam to attend the fourth theoretical workshop between the CPV and the PCF.

General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the contribution of party-channel relations to the positive developments of Vietnam-France bilateral relations, most recently the two countries upgrading their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. He also appreciated the efforts of the French Communist Party to enhance the position and role of the Party, contributing to the struggle for peace, independence, democracy and social progress in France, Europe and around the world.

The top leader of Vietnam suggested that the two parties continue increasing cooperation in existing areas, including the theoretical workshop mechanism, which facilitates the sharing of theoretical issues and practical experience to improve each party's operational capacity.

Roussel, in turn, stressed that the PCF highly values and prioritizes the strengthening of its relationship with the CPV. He expressed a wish to maintain and uphold existing areas of cooperation, particularly through the theoretical workshop mechanism.

The PCF always strives and stays ready to make practical and effective contributions to advancing the Vietnam-France comprehensive strategic partnership, including collaboration in economy-trade, rail and waterway transportation, locality-to-locality partnerships, and parliamentary cooperation, as well as joint efforts within the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), he said.
