President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man were among the attendants.
At the meeting, General Secretary Lam emphasized that over the past 80 years, although the functions, tasks and organizational scale of the forces have been different and specific, the People's Army, the People's Public Security and the Diplomacy of Vietnam have all firmly maintained the goal and ideal of national independence associated with socialism.
These are the core forces in national defense, together with the entire people fighting for national liberation and unification, firmly protecting the Fatherland, national security, strengthening foreign affairs, cooperation, international integration, and enhancing Vietnam's international position and prestige. The solidarity of the three forces plays a particularly important role in the destiny of the nation, Party leader To Lam said.
"Determining the relationship between these forces is very important. The Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the State identified and highly appreciated this relationship. In all victories over invaders and in resistance wars, we well applied the strategy of both fighting and negotiating, both on the battlefield and on the diplomatic front. Today, this role is further consolidated and developed."
Later on Friday evening, at Hanoi’s Ho Guom Theater, General Secretary To Lam attended a symphony art program celebrating unity of military, security, diplomatic forces co-organized by the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
