General Secretary Lam on Wednesday chaired a working session in Kien Giang with the Standing Board of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee and the permanent members of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee on the arrangement of the organizational apparatus, national defense and security, economic growth, social security, poverty reduction and people's livelihoods.

“The new province must quickly stabilize its organization, focusing on socio-economic development with a proactive, creative, decisive and flexible spirit. The immediate goal is to achieve the targets of 2025, especially GRDP growth reaching over 8%, creating a solid foundation for double-digit growth in the following years. It’s necessary to remove bottlenecks in the business environment, planning, infrastructure, capital sources, digital transformation and human resource quality," he said.
"Continue to accelerate administrative reform, decentralization, delegation of power, digitalization of procedures, cut time and costs facing people and businesses, motivate dynamic development of economic sectors, especially the private sector and digital economy.” In addition to economic development, people must be put at the center, social security be developed, and the quality of life must be improved, the Party leader said.
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Meeting to be held in Phu Quoc City in 2027 is of great significance to the Mekong Delta region and the whole country, General Secretary Lam said and called on the locality to focus on preparing for the event, ensuring progress, quality and absolute safety.
