Party leader encourages Party Committee, administration and people of Ho Chi Minh City

(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on Tuesday affirmed that the Party Central Committee, Politburo, Secretariat, and permanent Secretariat members closely watch, provide comprehensive direction, and stay side by side with  the Party Committee, administration and people of Ho Chi Minh City to overcome a difficult period, turn the city back to a new normal, and contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

The Party leader gave the encouragement during a phone call on Tuesday to Secretary of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Nen before the online meeting of the Municipal Party Committee on implementing urgent measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Trong said the city has been resilient in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two months. He praised the examples of frontline forces who are always ready to rush into the battle to protect people's lives and thanked the compatriots, intellectuals, religious followers, business community, volunteers, and philanthropists for their contributions to the fight against the pandemic.

Party General Secretary Trong urged Ho Chi Minh City to continue to promote its full strength and mobilize all resources, especially medical resources, to join hands to defeat the pandemic.
