“As this is the first year of implementing the 13th National Party Congress Resolution, what socio-economics lessons have been learned? The Resolution of the Party Congress must be applied in reality in 2022 in an easy way to understand, remember, implement, and check. Then the National Assembly will meet and institutionalize the implementation with clear and coherent methods and with the spirit of innovation and practicality.”

Party General Secretary Trong said the Politburo requested the Government and Party Personnel Department, ministries and localities to closely follow the socio-economic development viewpoints in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. He stressed the need to uphold the spirit of self-reliance and determination to make the best efforts in disease prevention and control and realization of socio-economic development goals. Fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, protecting people's health and life is the first and foremost task, Mr. Trong said, adding that scenarios need to be developed and solutions be adopted to match the new situation when the pandemic might prolong.

“We must be calm and wise and objectively evaluate the situation and focus on methods to make correct forecasts and propose specific, objective, comprehensive, and unbiased measures.”

The Party leader also requested preparedness to effectively implement the Economic Recovery and Development Program in order to adapt to all circumstances, take advantage of opportunities from the rapid recovery trend of major economies in the world, support job creation and labor restructuring, and improve income and living standards for workers.
