The Party chief emphasized that since the beginning of the term in 2021, Vietnam has basically achieved its dual goals of COVID-19 prevention and control and socio-economic recovery and development, building an independent and self-reliant economy coupled with proactive, extensive and effective international integration. Particularly, the fight against corruption and misconducts has created a high consensus in the whole society.
“There are many reasons behind what we have achieved since the beginning of the term. The most important reason is the success of the 13th National Party Congress whose guidelines have been proven to be correct and relevant," Mr. Trong said.
"Other reasons are the wise leadership of the Central Committee, Politburo, Secretariat and Party committees and organizations in implementing the Congress’s Resolution; the quick, drastic and effective management of the Government, the Prime Minister and authorities at all levels; and efforts to effectively renew operation of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels."
"This is also the result of the unity and coordination of the whole political system; the patriotic tradition and the strength of national unity; the efforts of cadres and Party members; positive, creative and responsible working spirit of the people; and the trust, agreement and support of the international community,” he added.
General Secretary Trong pointed out future tasks of prioritizing the improvement of investment and business environment; effectively dealing with limitations of the economy; and doing better the building and rectification of the Party and the political system.
He emphasized that lessons must be learned from the vote of confidence conducted by the Party Central Committee for the members of Politburo and the Secretariat at this mid-term meeting.
The Party leader stressed the need to well perform the vote of confidence for leaders and managers in the political system; develop plan for leaders at all levels, especially the planning of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat of the 2026-2031 term; and prepare party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term towards the 14th National Party Congress.
