General Secretary Lam, Head of the Central Steering Committee, emphasized eight key tasks that need to be accomplished from now until the end of the year.

“The two-tier local government has officially come into operation. Without technology and data-based governance, it’s impossible to communicate, direct, grasp the situation or operate work in a timely manner, leading to the risk of backlog and failure to serve people and businesses in a timely manner," he said.

"I want to make it very clear that digital transformation is the central nervous system, the vital bridge between the province and the commune in the new operating model. It must become a data brain to synthesize, analyze, and give early warnings of the situation to avoid information gaps. Without digital transformation, the two-tier administrative model will not be able to operate effectively,” Mr. Lam added.

At the meeting, Party General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh witnessed the launch of three digital platforms. They are The Communist Party of Vietnam Electronic Information Portal, a monitoring and evaluation system of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57, and the information system for receiving and processing feedback, recommendations, and solutions for initiatives in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.
