Addressing the event, Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, applauded the sector’s achievements over the past 70 years. He said inspection and oversight should be carried out regularly, publicly, democratically, and cautiously, focusing on prevention. Mr. Vuong added: “On the one hand, Party committees, particularly leaders, must undertake inspection, oversight, and discipline work in accordance with their functions. On the other hand, they must lead and instruct their subordinates to carry out inspection tasks. Efforts should be made to early detect mistakes and shortcomings to prevent them from deteriorating.”

Mr. Vuong also asked for the building a strong contingent of inspection cadres to meet requirements of the new period.

At the ceremony, Acting President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh conferred Labor Order, first class, on the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission for its outstanding contributions to socialist construction and national defense.
